[Korekiyo has led Futayo into the shrine room. It's quiet, but he's pretty sure nobody will enter here.]
Now, my friend, you must never speak of what I'm about to show you to anyone. The last group that found out shunned me for it, and I don't want that to happen in a game where popularity is key to survival.
Are we absolutely clear on that?

[It's a simple answer from a simple person.]
...Does Korekiyo-dono wish to know what this one did as well?
[She really didn't care about keeping them secret. Everyone already knew back home but if it would help.]

Try not to let this disturb you.
[He plays the video and shows it to her.]
[It looks a lot like the motive videos Monokuma and his Kubs used on Kiyo and his classmates, right down to the silhouettes on the title screen and the artist's renditions. A voice over explains that Kiyo was the kind of kid who didn't get out much. This was because his older sister got really sick and someone had to take care of her. The two siblings were closer than anything, and he felt an undying devotion to her. Too bad he never realized that platonic love isn't the same as romance.]
[Anyway, his sister died a few years back, leaving poor Kiyo sad and alone. He traveled the world, studying other people on his quest to fill the sister-shaped hole in his heart. Along the way, he met a friendly tribe in some distant country that decided to welcome him- by tying him up and nearly whipping him to death. Obviously, he survived, but during the torment he saw his sister's spirit coming to comfort and protect him. It was wonderful and merciful and he never wants her to be lonely again.]
[So that's why he lets her haunt him. She possesses him when he's feeling very distressed. The video ends abruptly.]
. . .
I sure hope you content warned the hell out of this. Also sorry for the text vomit
Date: 2018-03-26 11:21 am (UTC)She protected you, like you protected her before. Like Kazuno and Father protected this one.
[It's quiet, almost understanding. And it shouldn't be, someone shouldn't be able to watch and relate to it. But Futayo does, and she just looks down at her own tablet.]
... Does that mean this one will be shunned as well?
[And presses play-
{It's a child Futayo. No older than six, running through the halls, and into a bedroom. Jumping on the mass in the bed. The mass roaring, then her father is bundling her into the blankets with a laugh.
There's the same laugh as he lifts the same squirming child to toss her in the bath.
Then it fast-forwards to similar moments. But the cutesy playing gets a lot less cute as Futayo gets older. It's still the same. A father not noticing that his daughter is growing up, and a girl who doesn't know she shouldn't be acting like that. So much to the displeasure of the maid, they never separate. Sleeping, bathing, eating, training, they're always together.}
It's not the same as Kiyo's video, but she can't understand that. So her head drops, and there's a pathetic attempt at a raspberry. Then she steps forward lifting her arms for a hug.]
This one does not want to be shunned, and Korekiyo-dono should not be either.
[She's not good at comforting people. But hugs are warm and nice.]
I'll put this thread under a cut if I have to.

Date: 2018-03-26 05:26 pm (UTC)Judge. All the others keep saying he raised me wrong. But he did not. Just like how Korekiyo-dono's sister protecting him is not wrong.
[She's both the best and worst person to tell. Accepts it without disgust, but not capable of realizing that there's even something to be disgusted of.]

Date: 2018-03-27 05:16 am (UTC)Kiyo closes his eyes, almost understanding her predicament. He can't quite imagine a girl as quiet and naive as her being so full of energy (when she's sober) but... He still remembers the story she told him on that first date, about her father's sacrifice and her lost home...]
He is the one who trained you in the art of battle, is he not?

Kazuno? Is that one of your friends? Or perhaps family as well?

[Still not sure what to make of that, or not realising that sooner.]
